The Ridgeway C.E. Primary School

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Welcome to the The Ridgeway School PTA.

The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school. It is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together in support of the school, working towards a common goal and it is fun as well.

All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, even if they only have a small amount of time. You do not have to become a member of the Committee to become involved. Any help given is very much appreciated and is vital for the continuation of the PTA. With on-going support of the parents and staff the PTA will succeed in its efforts. Over the years it has raised a considerable amount of money which has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children's education experience and school facilities.

100 Club

The 100 Club is a lottery we run that currently generates most of the annual income for our PTA. You buy a number from 1 to 100 which costs £1 a week for each week of the year. Your number is then entered into weekly draws throughout the year, two of which are Grand Draws, one at Easter time and one in the autumn. In the weekly draws you have the chance to win £25. In the Grand Draws you may win £50, £100 or £200

The more numbers you have the greater the chances of winning. Families are encouraged to have at least one number. Remember, grandparents and other family members are welcome to have numbers as well; it is not restricted to parents alone!

To set up a new or additional number email: rspta100club@gmail.com.

How We Spend The Funds

We always endeavour to spend funds that will benefit all children across all areas of the school and curriculum. There are items that have become regular items for consideration such as subsidising school trips and Mrs Blockley produces a 'wish list' of items that the School would like the PTA to consider funding. This may be as a result of a child asking for something or it will be for resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or school environment.

The PTA funds are spent on the 'extras' that are not provided by the school's budget. Examples of things the PTA has provided are a story teller to visit school during Book Week, a bike set for Robin Class, easels for Robin Class, visitors and trips for all the classes, the purchase of chairs and staging for the school hall.  Recently we have purchased iPads for the children to use in their lessons. We also pay for all children in House Martin Class to have music lessons every other year giving them the opportunity to play on afterwards if they wish to do so.
